We use social media, particularly Instagram (@dailylifeecon) as an educational platform. We utilise Instagram to create interactive content that connects economic concepts to peoples’ daily lives. Linked to the platfomr we have our WordPress website we we share real-world case studies, and other relatable resources for students, lecturers or teachers, and cilurious minds in general who are ibterested in economics. We believe that this approach not only helps understanding but also fosters a deeper interest in the subject.

Our Instagram initiatives have shown promising results in terms of engagement and implementing a research led curriculum. In terms of higher education we find that this is particularly beneficial for students with specific learning difficulties, as the visual and interactive nature of social media content appeals to diverse learning styles.
